We are only a few days away from 2021, and I’m sure most of us are making New Year’s resolutions.
Resolutions can vary from one person to another. Maybe your’s are; to stop drinking, save for a small business, or anything else. It’s no surprise that they may not be on your list of New Year’s resolutions for the first time.
Some of us make resolutions that we don’t even start. Why is that? It’s not because we are afraid to start something new; it’s because the resolution we made didn’t come of our own accord.
I mean that someone pushed you and put it in your head that you needed to change something specific about yourself.
Second, maybe the resolution failed because it was too vague. Don’t try to set vague goals.
- Write down specific things you want to accomplish. This shows that you know what you want; and what you’ll work towards.
- Make sure your goals are achievable. There’s no reason to start something that you’ll not finish. It’s okay to have a big dream, but you should also set goals you can control. Take it one step at a time so you do not fail. Not only that, but you’ll also prevent the voice of emptiness.
- Let it be appropriate. What’s the reason that made you make those New Year’s resolutions? Think about what’s right for you and what’s valuable to your life.
- Timing. Are you thinking about achieving your goals in a week or a month? It’s not going to happen. Take it one step at a time and give yourself time. Enough time will help you develop a habit and stick to your New Year’s resolutions.
