There’s no doubt that this year, most people have been working from home. So, let’s help each other walk this journey. Here are some helpful insights to help you stay productive as you work from home.

1. Set a schedule

It’s essential to have a schedule for everything that you do.

Like you would follow a specific schedule while working from the office, set one for yourself. Wake up early in the morning, take a shower, and have breakfast.

When you are working from home, you have your own choice of when to work. I’d recommend early in the morning if possible. At this time, your mind is still fresh, and your body is not tired.

Proper scheduling will boost your productivity, and hence getting great results.

2. Keep regular hours

You don’t necessarily have to follow the 8 to 4 or 9 to 5 rule, but it’s essential to set up certain hours.

Whatever hours you set and when to start, kindly follow them daily.

I know it can be a little challenging, but practicing and creating a routine, will help to stay productive as you work from home.

3. Discipline yourself

Dress and behave like you would when working from the office.

Thereby, you create a work environment, an office mood, which will enable you to stay productive.

Also, don’t forget to take breaks. Breaks are significant as they will help you refreshen your mind.

4. Set up a working space

There are some places at home that you shouldn’t work from. Not on the bed and close to the refrigerator. The reason, such areas might make you lose focus.

For Instance, when you’re close to the refrigerator, you might be tempted to keep running in there to have a bite. Without you realizing it, you lose lots of time where you could have focused on your work.

Set up a proper working place. Where there are no or fewer things to distract you, and you can sit upright.

5. Avoid distraction

Often, when we start working at home, we think we can do anything because no one is watching. You start chatting with friends every time and allowing them to bump in.

While it’s good to have a social life, kindly set some rules during working hours. Notify them that you would appreciate much to meet or chat after work.

This isn’t to put them off, but to make sure you can stay focused and productive as you work from home.
