Here are 9 toddler summer essentials.
We are already on day 3 of June: and the theme everywhere is “summer.” It’s getting warmer and warmer every day, and all we want to do is get our kiddos outside.
For example, as I mentioned in my summer bucket list, I’ll be taking Synnøve outside often to soak up the sun’s rays and introduce her to nature.
Meanwhile, as parents, there are some items we need to make sure our kids are entertained and protected while enjoying the sun. And there are what we call summer essentials!
So, let’s dive in!
9 toddler summer essentials
As you may know, it is usually not recommended to use sunscreen on a baby under six months of age. But, now that we are talking about toddlers, that is, ages 1 year to 3 years, then no problem.
When the sun is so hot, we all look for a shady spot. But with a toddler, you may not stay in that shade for long. That’s why it’s good to take something to protect their skin when you’re outside during this hot season.
When you’re out in the hot sun with your child, whether at the beach or in your backyard at home, make sure your child is protected. Wearing a baby sun hat or a summer hat for toddlers will protect your child’s head and neck from harmful rays.
A water shoe is typically used for activities where the feet may get wet, such as at the beach.
Since many of us like to spend time by the water during these warm days, it’s ideal to have such shoes for toddlers. This way, we can be sure that their feet are protected from cuts and scrapes while walking in wet and even rocky areas.
Sometimes, it can get hot where you are at home. And, unluckily, you don’t have the opportunity to go to a beach. In such moments, a baby pool comes into play.
All you have to do is place it on your patio or in your backyard, fill it with water, and let your toddler enjoy the water as it helps them cool down.
Baby beach tent
As much as we want to protect them with sunscreen, tents can also help keep those cuties under some shade.
Using the tent gives a space vibe, which will help protect them from the sun’s harmful rays, at least for a few minutes when they can be still. Lol!
Beach bucket set
Babies and toddlers like sand very much. So, dear mama, this is one of the items you shouldn’t miss while enjoying all these summer days.
Let them shovel, get dirty, and enjoy the sand as much as they can.
Reusable swim diapers
In my opinion, reusable swim diapers tend to be more durable than disposable ones. They are also less stain-resistant than reusable ones.
But, on the other hand, unless you take your toddler to the pool very often, you may not get much use out of them.
So, I would say that whether you choose reusable or disposable is entirely your decision. All in all, we are trying to achieve the same goal. “Wink”
The most important benefit of wearing sunglasses is to protect our eyes from excessive sunlight. So let’s remember to protect the little ones as well.
